| Notes |
| I’ll admit I had my hopes set high for this release and I was disappointed the first few listens…it seemed a bit slow, so I didn’t give it the time and attention it deserved at first. Upon further review I’ve come to love this record. I play it more and more all the time; I guess it was just a grower. Crowded House is an amazing pop band, and even though I’ve always preferred the quirk of the Finn’s earlier band, Split Enz, they’ve always been a favorite. This is not their best record, but it’s definitely not their worst. It actually contains one of my favorite Crowded House songs, “She Called Up.” It’s a power pop gem, upbeat and quirky…reminding me of that old Split Enz magic. |
